We are outrageously proud to reveal our spanking-new menu. With design inspired by the wrought-iron gates at our flagship Piccadilly restaurant and months of development by our chefs in the test kitchen, we will be showing you more of Argentinian cuisine than ever before.
Our starter selection is now divided into Gaucho Classics (yes, the cheese-pull glory of the Proveleta is still there!); Modern Argentina (where we show you the food making waves right now); and our all-new Tacos and Tostadas (crispy small bites from across South America that will transport you to the pumping streets of Buenos Aires).
Then come to the mains. All your favourite cuts of 100% Argentinian beef are still present and correct, but we are ready to enlist you to our Marination Nation. A selection of six steaks that are all cut to order by our in-house butchery team. These have been marinated in authentic Argentine fresh herbs and spices to enhance their natural flavour.
Our favourites have to be either the fiery Lomo al Diablo: spicy medallions of fillet marinated in chilli, sweet paprika, garlic and parsley served with salsa Argentina. Or the Chipotle Ancho: a gloriously oversize ribeye marinated in a smoky chipotle chilli paste.
We spoke to Gaucho Culinary Director, Anthony Ekizian about the new A La Carte menu:
What are your favourite new dishes and why?
I have to say the Wild Mushroom Provoleta. The combination of earthy wild mushrooms, aromatic thyme, and melting provolone is simply unbeatable for a simple, yet flavourful dish. I also love the marinated steaks, particularly the Lomo al Diablo. It has just the right amount of heat balanced by the subtle notes of aji molido and oregano.
What was the thinking behind the new starters and the marinated steaks?
We wanted to create starters that complement our steaks beautifully while offering fresher, more vibrant options. That’s where our tacos and tostada selections come in , as well as our modern Argentinian selection bursting with fresh ingredients, herbs, and zesty lime, they bring a modern twist to Argentine flavours.
How do you view the flavours of Modern Argentina?
Bold and generous. They are all about showcasing quality ingredients and layering flavours.
