With a lot of talk about ‘tannis’ and ‘terroir’, the wine world can seem a little intimidating, as folks in the wine business have an especially developed way of talking about their passion. Luckily, our new sommelier-led event Sour Grapes, falls on the more informal side, one where you tend to drink a lot of wine in small helpings across a delightfully boozy evening.
You will be able to learn about an arsenal of grapy facts in a casual vibe, where we bridge the gap between wine maker and wine drinker. Afterwards you will be equipped with a handful of basic terms to steer your friendly sommelier towards your preferences when choosing your next bottle.
Throughout the evening you can enjoy 4 glasses of stunning wine along with some delicious small bites. Every guest will also be equipped with a funky little notecard to jot down information during the event.
13th February – Galentine’s Day (SOLD OUT)
As we are approaching the dead of winter and the end of dry January, it’s an excellent time to celebrate Galentine’s Day, an unofficial yet frankly fabulous midwinter holiday. Try our exclusive flight of rosé, red and sparkling wines, with a mix of elegant, rich and decadent styles paired with a selection of tasty bites, such as our tempting Mac & Cheese bites and Prawn Ceviche Tacos. Whether you’re single, in a relationship or in a ‘situationship’, a Galentine’s Day party includes everyone and is the perfect opportunity to raise a glass and celebrate your homegirls.
8th March – Female Winemakers & Tarot Readings
Join us at Sour Grapes on International Women’s Day as we honour the pioneering female winemakers smashing grapes (and the patriarchy) in a male-dominated industry. Raise a glass in celebration of their achievements and indulge in four generous glasses of delicious wine, perfectly paired with a selection of small plates. To help navigate life’s big questions for all those soul seekers out there, we will be joined by an expert tarot reader, who will be giving bespoke 5-minute readings throughout the evening.
17th April – Grape Guide: Malbec
Get ready to sip, swig, and swirl like a true connoisseur at our Malbec grape guide edition. Indulge in four generous glasses of premium grapes from some of the world’s top winemakers, perfectly paired with some tempting small bites. Our wonderful sommelier Marina will be on hand to guide you through a delightfully boozy evening. With some little-known facts about this beloved grape, we will help you discover the joys of Malbec.
